Mr. Mattes (pronounced Ma-tis) is the Executive Director and cofounder of Life Issues Institute, internationally headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. The organization was established to serve the educational needs of the pro-life movement. Its primary objective is to develop and disseminate, globally, effective pro-life educational material.

He is the host of Life Issues, a daily radio commentary on abortion and related issues, which is carried on nearly 600 radio stations across the nation. Mr. Mattes has hosted various half-hour radio programs on topics including: the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, adoption and US Supreme Court vacancies.

He also hosts a new weekly, pro-life TV program called Facing Life Head-On, which is available to over 100 million households across America and throughout Canada.

Mr. Mattes is a frequent international speaker and lecturer on abortion and euthanasia, and works with other countries to establish a pro-life educational and counseling presence.

He has done considerable anecdotal research on the effects of abortion on men, and his writings on this topic have been printed in American and international publications. He has a Master’s degree in Biblical Studies and Biblical Counseling. Mr. Mattes is an adjunct professor at Master's International School of Divinity where he has written and teaches a course on men and abortion.

Mr. Mattes is a veteran of the pro-life cause, with over 32 years of educational, political and humanitarian experience. Currently, he serves in a variety of ways to protect innocent human life:

• A men's post-abortion counselor.
  
• Media spokesperson with television, radio and newspaper.
  
• Speaker at pro-life banquet and educational events.

He resides in the greater Cincinnati area with his wife. They have four sons.
